Today, the fourth meeting of the Ukrainian-Dutch Agricultural Working Group took place. The Ukrainian side was headed by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olha Trofymtseva, and the Dutch party – by the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aldrik Gierveld.
During the meeting, the sides summarized the results of the implementation of the Joint Action Plan between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the agrarian sector for 2017-2018, which was signed on April 24, 2017 in The Hague. Moreover, representatives of the countries signed a bilateral action plan to deepen cooperation in the sector along priority directions.
"I am very grateful to our Dutch colleagues for the active and fruitful cooperation in the agroindustrial complex. It is not just about the development of bilateral trade in agrarian and food products. I note that the Netherlands today rank 4th among the TOP-10 countries we export our production. We are also pleased to note that the projects of bilateral cooperation with the Netherlands are practically oriented, carried out in different regions of Ukraine and receive a positive response from our agricultural producers", said Deputy Minister Olha Trofymtseva at the beginning of the meeting.
She told that as a result of the implementation of the joint Action Plan for 2017-2018 between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in agriculture, the countries can already boast the experience of effective projects in areas such as the development of potato farming, the dairy sector, the establishment of effective and regulatory public control and awareness of the process of realization of land reform in the Zaporizhzhia region.
On his part, Mr.Aldrik Gierveld thanked Ukrainian colleagues for the active and effective cooperation in the agricultural sector and noted the interest of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in further fruitful cooperation in the industry. According to the results of the fourth meeting of the Ukrainian-Netherlands Working Group on Agriculture, the parties signed a joint statement on cooperation in the sector of agro-industrial complex.
