Ukraine has a chance to become a worthy participant in the global development of hydrogen energetics. This was stressed  during an interview with acting Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Konstiantyn Hura and President of the Energy Association Ukrainian Hydrogen Council Oleksandr Repkin.

Ukraine has identified hydrogen energy as one of the important tasks at the state level by encompassing it in the National Economic Strategy until 2030.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in synergy with the Ministry of Energy and the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving also considered the potential of this area in the country.

The development of the production and use of hydrogen will allow:

to reduce the use of traditional fuels in the national economy and, consequently,to  decarbonize it;

to ensure stable and reliable functioning of the power system of Ukraine;

to enable Ukraine to become an exporter of hydrogen to the EU countries.
