Ukraine has undertaken cooperation with the European Union pilot project for the development of breakthrough technologies and innovations - the European Innovation Council (EIC). It is designed to support innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with bright ideas and the ambition to scale up internationally. The total pilot budget is over EUR 2 billion for 2019-2020.
What financial instruments are available and how Ukrainian inventors and innovators can obtain them - EIC experts told it during an information day "EIC Roadshow", which was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
"Today we have made the first important step: informed the representatives of business, start-ups, research institutions and universities of Ukraine about the beginning and opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the new program of the European Council of Innovations. We hope that this cooperation will develop and grow", said Stefan Ouaki, EIC expert, head of Unit, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation at the European Commission.
The project brings together the parts of Horizon 2020 that provide funding, advice and networking opportunities for those at cutting edge of innovation. There are envisaged three such instruments:
Within its framework, the project will also provide the necessary advice and create a network of data for all projects and potential investors.
