Ukrainian farmers sow 1,600,000 hectares of winter crops


As of 23 September 2025, Ukrainian farmers have sown 1,600,000 hectares of winter crops. Winter grains are now being sown across all regions of Ukraine.

Specifically, the following have been sown:

  • winter wheat – 672,000 hectares;
  • winter barley – 37,700 hectares;
  • winter rye – 17,700 hectares;
  • winter rapeseed – 872,600 hectares.

Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions lead in the sowing of grain crops. The largest areas of winter rapeseed were sown in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil regions.
