Over the past month, UkraineInvest, a state-owned institution, has analysed one of Ukraine's most strategic sectors, the energy sector, gathering all the necessary information in one material for investors - a study.

To restore Ukraine's energy sector, more than USD 383 billion needs to be raised, as stated in Ukraine's Energy Strategy until 2050.

These funds can be invested in the energy sector by investors.

Therefore, it is necessary to present the full situation in the energy sector of Ukraine for investors, to show its real state, damage, problems, and investment opportunities.

UkraineInvest has compiled relevant material into a study that serves as a reference guide and an introduction and can serve as a basis for future investment strategies in the energy sector.

According to Viktoriia Volovenko, Head of Analytics at UkraineInvest, investors are already actively interested in green projects that contribute to sustainable development and energy security of Ukraine, and investments in the energy sector in 2023 amounted to USD 186.2 million, which is not a large figure. This is not a huge figure, but it shows that investors are interested even in wartime.

"UkraineInvest's analytical study also emphasises the importance of investments in hydrogen energy and energy storage facilities, which can significantly reduce energy costs for businesses and create thousands of new jobs. It is worth noting that, according to the latest estimates, Ukraine's energy infrastructure has suffered losses of USD 56 billion due to russian aggression, which further emphasises the need to invest in its restoration and modernisation," said Viktoriia Volovenko.

UkraineInvest continues to support investors and provide comprehensive advisory assistance for the implementation of investment projects in Ukraine, calling for partnerships with Ukrainian enterprises and government initiatives.
