As part of the international conference “Energy for the Recovery of Ukraine”, which is taking place in Warsaw, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Ville Tavio and representatives of the Finnish business community: East Office of Finnish Industries, Fortum, Wärtsilä, Peikko.
German Galushchenko thanked the Government of Finland and representatives of Finnish companies for their support to Ukraine and willingness to participate in the restoration of the energy sector. Currently, a number of Finnish energy companies are already operating in Ukraine, including a project to modernise one of the thermal power plants.
“We highly value our cooperation and invite our Finnish partners to expand their presence in Ukraine,” said the Minister.
Ville Tavio, for his part, expressed Finland’s readiness to continue supporting Ukraine. According to him, participation in this event shows Finland’s strong solidarity with Ukraine. The Finnish side wants to help Ukraine not only to rebuild, but to rebuild better. And it is important that investment plans for Ukraine’s recovery are drawn up now.
The parties discussed the prospects for deepening cooperation in renewable energy, the nuclear industry, and areas that will allow Ukraine to increase its distributed generation capacity.
