The Government is working on a mechanism to compensate farmers and strategic enterprises for demining. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 22.
"We are creating a transparent market for demining services. If an agricultural or other company purchases a demining service through Prozorro, receives this service and the relevant certificate from an officially licensed operator, the state will fully or partially reimburse the costs," the Head of Government said.
According to the Prime Minister, this should significantly accelerate the process of land clearance where possible. The draft budget for 2024 also includes UAH 2 billion for humanitarian demining.
"A pilot tender for demining services has already been held in Zhytomyr region. The state saved UAH 100,000 of budget funds," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister also announced plans to hold an international donor conference on Ukraine's humanitarian demining in Croatia in mid-October, which is expected to attract additional financial resources in this area.
