  • Since start of year, Ukraine has transferred almost UAH 134 million to hospitals operating under temporary occupation
Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 07 March 2023 14:48

Ukrainian doctors, even at the risk of their lives, are not leaving their jobs and are providing medical care to Ukrainian citizens under temporary occupation.

Ukraine does not abandon its doctors, and the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service continue to transfer funds to those medical institutions under occupation with which they have established proper communication.

Since the beginning of 2023, medical institutions operating in the temporarily occupied territories have continued to receive funding from the NHSU under a special package "Ensuring the preservation of human resources to provide medical care to the population in the temporarily occupied territories." This package allows medical institutions in the occupied territories to receive a monthly amount of money equal to the monthly payroll of medical workers.

Funding under this package is provided to 64 medical institutions located in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Of these, 22 are in Luhansk region, 15 in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, and 12 in Kherson region.

For two months of this year, hospitals located in the temporarily occupied territories have already received UAH 133,808,694.

In 2022, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, medical institutions under temporary occupation received 1/12 of the annual funding every month.
