Ukraine and Lithuania to jointly produce defence products: Denys Shmyhal

Ukraine and Lithuania will jointly produce defence products. A Letter of Intent for joint production of defence products in Lithuania and Ukraine was signed in Kyiv by Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Lithuania’s Minister of National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė.

“We are focusing together on launching joint productions, particularly for long-range drones. We discussed specific prospects for industrial cooperation opened by the Letter of Intent. The document creates new opportunities for establishing joint ventures, expanding Ukrainian companies in Lithuania, and exchanging technologies,” Denys Shmyhal stated.

He thanked his Lithuanian counterpart for the visit and productive collaboration. Notably, Lithuania will continue allocating 0.25% of its GDP to military aid for Ukraine until 2027. This is a strong signal of long-term support for our warriors, the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence noted.

During the meeting, the defence ministers focused on securing additional funding for weapons procurement and developing Ukrainian industry.

“I thank Lithuania for its consistent and unwavering support for Ukraine on the path to victory,” Denys Shmyhal concluded.
