Ukraine and Canada agree on joint defence production

Ukraine and Canada have agreed on joint defence production. The agreement was signed today by Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of National Defence of Canada David McGuinty in the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney.

The agreement aims to deepen bilateral defence-industrial cooperation, expand and establish new production capacities in Ukraine and Canada, and enhance the resilience and continuity of defence product supplies.

“It’s significant that today’s agreements will not only facilitate the establishment of Ukrainian companies in Canada and promote technology exchange but also help ensure the Ukrainian Armed Forces are equipped with modern weapons and military equipment in the long term,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The signed document will strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and capability to counter the russian threat, he added.
