During a Government delegation's visit to Italy, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal visited Rheinmetall Italia S.p.A., a defence company specialising in the production of modern air defence systems.

Among solutions of Rheinmetall is the Skynex short-range air defence system, which poses interest for Ukraine.

 "We need such an effective weapon to defend ourselves against the drones used by russia to attack Ukraine. It will save dozens of lives and important infrastructure for millions of people," Denys Shmyhal assured.

 Currently, such systems are already on combat duty in Ukraine. The Prime Minister thanked partners for their support.  

"We are expanding the horizons of cooperation between Ukraine and Italy in the defence industry. We are considering the possibility of joint production of components of these systems. We are working to have more such effective air defence systems. They will create a reliable shield around our strategic infrastructure facilities," the Head of Government summed up.
