  • Prime Minister: Ukraine expects US Congress to approve a support package of almost USD 45 billion

    Following the negotiations of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington, our state will receive a military assistance package worth about USD 2 billion. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on December 23.

    According to the Head of Government, the package includes new HIMARS systems and a Patriot complex, which will help to better protect Ukrainian skies from russian terrorists.

    “The meeting with President Biden and the speech of the Head of our State in the Congress demonstrated an unprecedented level of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. America has clearly stated that it will support us till the victory. This is a consolidated opinion of all political powers of the United States and the American people,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.

    According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine counts on the approval by the Congress of a support package in the amount of almost USD 45 billion. It concerns military, economic and humanitarian assistance. This amount is included in the US federal budget for 2023. According to the Head of Ukrainian Government, yesterday the Senate has already passed the bill. Now the decision is up to the House of Representatives.
