Ukraine officially starts heating season: Yulia Svyrydenko
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the heating season has officially started in Ukraine.
Currently, over 55% of social infrastructure facilities – kindergartens, hospitals, and schools – are already connected to heating. In 13 regions, heat is partially supplied to residential buildings as well. The remaining regions will continue connections gradually, taking into account weather conditions and decisions by local authorities based on temperature regimes.
“russia is systematically attacking our energy and heating infrastructure. Yet despite this, the technical readiness of utility companies and the coordinated efforts of all relevant agencies have enabled the launch of the heating season,” emphasised the Head of the Government.
Over 17,500 boiler houses and 17,000 kilometres of heating networks are ready for operation. Repairs have been carried out, more than 340 km of heating networks have been replaced, and reserves of coal, pellets, liquid fuel, and firewood have been established.
“The Government’s priority is to ensure uninterrupted access to essential services. We are doing everything possible to keep Ukrainian homes warm and lit. I thank the energy workers and all services for their daily efforts,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
