Ukraine prepares for UN Climate Change Conference

Ukraine is gearing up for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30), the year’s most significant climate event, which will take place in Belém, Brazil, this November.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, Pavlo Kartashov, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Ukraine, Rafael de Mello Vidal, discussed preparations for the conference during a meeting. Topics included events in which Ukrainian delegates could participate and the organisation of bilateral meetings at various levels.

Both sides acknowledged the importance of Ukraine and Brazil joining forces at the highest level to address today’s key challenges. Protecting forests and biodiversity, advancing renewable energy, and ensuring global food security were highlighted as areas where Ukraine and Brazil can strengthen cooperation and share expertise. COP30 provides an effective platform for these efforts.

Deputy Minister Pavlo Kartashov expressed gratitude to Ambassador Rafael de Mello Vidal and the Federal Republic of Brazil for their support and voiced hopes for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
