Ukraine participates in the UNIDO Sustainable Cooling Forum 2026 in Vienna

A delegation from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, led by Deputy Minister Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, has taken part in the UNIDO Sustainable Cooling Forum 2026, which is taking place from 8 to 10 April in Vienna, Austria.

During the forum, the Ukrainian delegation is presenting Ukraine’s approach to the development of sustainable cooling. Particular attention is being given to integrating solutions in this area into broader climate, energy and industrial policy, as well as expanding cooperation with international organisations, financial institutions and businesses.

The Deputy Minister also held a working meeting with UNIDO Deputy Director General Ciyong Zou. The parties discussed the implementation of the Kigali Amendment, the phased reduction of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and prospects for expanding cooperation in the areas of chemical safety and waste management.

“We are interested in further expanding cooperation with UNIDO, particularly in the fields of chemical safety, hazardous waste management and sustainable cooling. For Ukraine, it is important not only to fulfil international obligations, but also to build a modern, competitive and climate-resilient model of industrial development. Our partnership with UNIDO has already delivered practical results for our country. We look forward to continuing our joint work to implement new initiatives as part of Ukraine’s green industrial recovery,” noted Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi.

Ukraine’s participation in international platforms helps strengthen cooperation with global partners and attract investment for the implementation of modern technologies and solutions as part of the green transformation of the economy.
