Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 12 January 2023 19:50

A meeting between Ambassador of Hungary István Íjgyártó and Deputy Minister of Health – Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin was held at the Ministry of Health.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation in the field of healthcare, in particular the reconstruction of medical facilities in the de-occupied territories, approaches to effective response to outbreaks of infectious diseases, exchange of epidemiological information, and provision of humanitarian aid.

“We are grateful to our international partners for standing side by side with us in this extremely difficult time. Every day the war takes its toll on the healthcare system. Numerous medical institutions, maternity hospitals and other public health facilities are partially or completely destroyed. Currently, thanks to our partners, we have managed to repair more than 140 healthcare facilities. We are grateful to Hungary for cooperation in the field of epidemiology – this strengthens the medical system, which is currently experiencing a significant overload,” Ihor Kuzin noted.

Besides, the parties discussed drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of epidemiology between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary.

During the meeting, István Íjgyártó handed over to Ukraine, as humanitarian aid, titanium implants for the injured from a Hungarian company, Medimetál Csontsebészeti Gyártó És Kereskedelmi Kft.
