Serhii Skarlet met with the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences

On July 11, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science hosted a meeting between Minister Serhii Shkarlet and the President of the Polish Academy of Science Mr. Jerzy Duszyński. The meeting also gathered together the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksii Dniprov, Chairperson of the VRU Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Serhii Babak, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatolii Zahorodnii, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen, scientists, as well as rectors of leading higher education institutions.

The participants discussed supporting Ukrainian scientists and strengthening cooperation with the academic community, increasing Ukraine's participation in European research programs. In particular, among the issues raised were the extending of cooperation in matters of scientific and technological support of the sphere of security and defense, which is currently extremely relevant for our countries; cooperation in scientific and scientific-technical activities between educational institutions, scientific institutions and organizations that provide grant support, etc.

The parties agreed on further cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet thanked Professor Jerzy Duszyński and the entire Polish people for the comprehensive support of our country, including Ukrainian scientists who found refuge in Poland and were given the opportunity to continue their professional activities.

As was reported earlier the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is working on the integration of electronic documents about education in the Diia application.
