
Fourth Summit of the International Crimea Platform held in Kyiv
On September 11, the Fourth Summit of the International Crimea Platform took place in Kyiv.
It is important that this year the geography of participation of countries and international organizations has expanded. Argentina, the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and the International Alliance for Freedom of Religions and Beliefs for the first time joined as participants of the governmental dimension of the Crimea Platform.
In total, almost sixty foreign countries and international organizations supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, expressed their support for the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and assured of further support to Ukraine for withstanding russian aggression.
The summit was attended by the President of Lithuania, the Prime Ministers of Latvia and Croatia, the Speakers of the Parliaments of Moldova and the Czech Republic, the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, the Secretary of State of the United States, the heads of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development GUAM, other participants. Several government officials from foreign countries joined the event online and in the format of video messages.
“Due to the Crimea Platform, due to diplomatic efforts, due to the resistance of our people, our soldiers, we absolutely clearly compel russia to reality, namely, to the international law, to the power of world solidarity, as well as to the need to restore full justice for Ukraine and, finally, a reliable peace for all our land, for all our people,” emphasized the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his speech at the summit.
At a joint press conference with the heads of foreign policy departments of the United States and Great Britain, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha expressed his gratitude to foreign delegates for participating in the Fourth Summit of the International Crimea Platform.
“A just and lasting peace is impossible without restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelal, who was recently released from russian captivity, addressed the summit participants.
As a result of the summit, the participants adopted a Joint Statement, which, among other things, stressed the unwavering commitment to restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including de-occupation of Crimea, through further providing Ukraine with comprehensive political, financial and military assistance to counter the russian aggression.
