Transit of Ukrainian agricultural goods through Poland will be unblocked on the night of Thursday to Friday: Yuliia Svyrydenko
Ukraine and Poland have reached an understanding on the transit of Ukrainian grain through the neighbouring country. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, following talks in Warsaw after the Polish government had decided to temporarily restrict imports and transit of agricultural goods from Ukraine through Poland.
"We treat the problems faced by our Polish colleagues with the same attention as Poland treats our problems. Therefore, we must respond promptly and effectively to this crisis situation. As a result of the negotiations, it was decided that the transit of Ukrainian agricultural goods through Poland will be unblocked on the night of Thursday 20 April to Friday 21 April this year," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the Government is currently awaiting official communication from the Polish side on the technical aspects of transporting Ukrainian products through Poland.
As a reminder, the ban on the transit of Ukrainian grain through Poland was introduced last week because some Ukrainian agricultural products had accumulated in the country creating price competition for Polish farmers.
