Situation in energy system: another NPP unit out of scheduled maintenance, generation fully covers consumption

Power generation

A power unit at one of Ukraine’s NPPs came out of repair 3 days ahead of schedule, adding 1,000 MW of capacity to the power system. In total, nuclear generation produced half of the electricity consumed over the past day. The generation fully covers the needs of consumers.

The largest repair campaign in the energy sector since independence is underway in preparation for the upcoming heating season.

Situation in the frontline areas

Enemy terror continues in the frontline and border regions with russia. Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions are left without electricity due to shelling. In Donetsk region, 14 settlements and one mine lost power as a result of shelling, and restoration work is underway.

Repair teams are working where the security situation allows.

Consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam blow-up

Efforts are underway to record and eliminate the consequences of the flood caused by the dam blast. In Kherson, 12,700 customers are still without power.

Power engineers are working to restore power supply.

Situation at the ZNPP

There is a slight decrease in the water level in the cooling pond. It is currently at 16.43 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.

Situation in the regions

4 settlements in Chernivtsi region are without power due to the bad weather. Some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions are also without electricity due to technological disruptions.
