Situation in energy system on 30 October
Due to bad weather, shelling and technological disruptions, consumers in 9 regions were cut off from electricity; restrictions on electricity production from renewable energy sources amounted to over 892 MW
Consequences of the bad weather
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, 100 settlements in 6 regions – Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv – remain without power supply. Most of them are in Kyiv region, where 52 settlements are without power.
Power generation
The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the consumer demand. Yesterday, 892.6 MW of electricity generation from renewable energy sources was restricted.
A hydroelectric unit at one of the PSPP was put under short-term repair (within one day). This will not affect the generation of electricity – the needs of consumers will be fully met.
Situation in the frontline areas
16 settlements in Donetsk region lost power due to shelling. Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions are also without electricity. Repair crews are working where the security situation allows.
In total, over the past day, power engineers have reconnected almost 34,000 consumers. Most of them are in Donetsk region.
Situation in the regions
As a result of technological disruptions, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions are without power.
Consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam blow-up
In Kherson, 1,200 consumers remain without power after flooding. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but repairs are slowed down by shelling.
Situation at the ZNPP
The water level in the ZNPP cooling pond remains stable at 15.69 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
Exports/imports
Commercial electricity imports totalled 898 MWh over the past day. Exports to Slovakia and Moldova totalled 114 MWh.
