Two coal mines in Donetsk region lost power due to shelling, 35 workers stayed underground; electricity needs of consumers are covered by domestic generation and commercial imports
POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION
Due to network constraints on the transmission system operator’s lines, blackout schedules were applied yesterday in Kharkiv region and for industry in Kryvyi Rih. Restrictions in these regions are still in effect today. In other regions, consumers were not restricted yesterday.
Due to the sunny weather and, accordingly, the increased generation of electricity by SPPs, the transmission system operator limited the generation of electricity from renewable sources in the morning hours.
Over the past day, consumers’ needs were covered by domestic generation and commercial imports. No emergency assistance was requested from neighbouring countries.
NETWORK STATUS
In Ternopil region, an overhead line was disconnected for technological reasons (a wire break due to a tree fall) and two substations lost power. This left household consumers and agricultural enterprises without power. Within an hour, all consumers were reconnected. The overhead line was put under emergency repair.
EMERGENCIES
In Donetsk region, as a result of shelling that damaged an overhead power line, household consumers and two mines lost power. In one of them, 35 workers were underground, and they were all brought to the surface. The overhead line was put back into operation and all consumers were reconnected.
SITUATION AT ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 15.40 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
IMPORT/EXPORT
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 9,154 MWh.
