  • Situation in energy system as of 10 April
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 10 April 2024 10:35

Power facilities in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions were attacked by enemy; during the day, renewable energy production was limited, and surplus electricity was transferred to Poland.

    POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Over the past day, due to grid restrictions on the transmission system operator’s lines, outage schedules were applied in Kharkiv region.

In the daytime, due to sunny weather and, accordingly, increased electricity generation by SPPs, the transmission system operator limited the generation of electricity from renewable sources to a total of 13,631 MWh.

The transmission system operator also transferred surplus electricity to Poland in the total amount of 1,071 MWh. Ukraine’s power system is stable and balanced.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

The enemy attacked power facilities in the south of the country. In particular, the attack caused a fire at a high-voltage substation in Mykolaiv region. To eliminate the consequences of the attack, two high-voltage lines were disconnected, and consumers in Kherson and partially in Mykolaiv regions were cut off. As of the morning, all consumers have been reconnected.

In addition, the shelling damaged a generation facility in Odesa region and damaged production facilities. There were no customer outages.

    STATE OF THE GRID

In the evening, equipment at a high-voltage substation in Poltava region was disconnected, resulting in power outages for household consumers of distribution system operators in Kharkiv and Poltava regions, industry, and the railway (train traffic was disrupted). Within an hour, all consumers were supplied with power.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.49 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted to be up to 400 MW. Some exports are also expected.
