Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 18 September 2023 12:36

More than 8,000 consumers in Lviv were left without electricity due to a power outage at Ukrenergo’s line, the electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to cover the needs of consumers.

    STATE OF THE GRID

In Lviv region, one of Ukrenergo’s 330 kV overhead power lines was disconnected three times, which resulted in a power outage for more than 8,000 consumers in Lviv. The outage lasted about 1.5 hours. The causes are being investigated.

    POWER GENERATION

Electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. Yesterday, during three daytime hours, restrictions were imposed on the production of renewable energy sources in different regions with a total capacity of 750 MW.

Power engineers continue to prepare the power system for the heating season, which will take place in the face of russian attacks. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at nuclear, thermal and hydro generation facilities.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKA HPP DAM BLOW-UP

Kherson is continuing to restore power grids damaged by the flood. Over the weekend, power engineers supplied power to several high-rise buildings in the Ostriv neighbourhood, connecting about 1,000 grid access points. About 5,500 consumers remain without power. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but the repair work is slowed down by shelling.

    SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE AREAS

Enemy terror continues in the frontline and border regions with russia. In Donetsk region, a 110 kV overhead power line was damaged by shelling, which cut off power to consumers in Toretsk and two mines. At the time of the power outage, miners were underground in one of the mines and were brought to the surface. Repair work to restore the line is ongoing.

Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy and Chernihiv regions remain without power. Repair crews are working where the security situation allows.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

Several overhead lines of different voltage classes were damaged due to artillery shelling in Mykolaiv region. All consumers are currently supplied with power and repair works are ongoing.

    SITUATION AT THE ZNPP

There is a slight decrease in the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond. It is currently at 15.93 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

    EXPORT/IMPORT

Commercial electricity imports totalled 282.00 MWh over the past day. Exports to Slovakia totalled 3,218.00 MWh, and to Moldova – 2,145.00 MWh.
