More than 160 settlements in four regions are without power supply due to bad weather, an interstate power line was disconnected
Consequences of the bad weather
A thunderstorm front is moving across the country, which has led to power outages in 162 settlements in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Kirovohrad regions. The energy infrastructure in Kyiv region was most affected: 17 power lines were damaged, and almost 27,000 consumers in 107 settlements remain without power.
State of the grids
The 110 kV interstate overhead power line with Moldova was out of service. The line was brought back online automatically. A 330 kV overhead line in Kirovohrad region was also out of service for a short time. There were no power outages, and the line was automatically reconnected.
Power generation
The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. Power engineers continue to prepare the power system for the heating season, which will take place in the face of russian attacks. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at thermal, hydro and nuclear generation facilities.
Situation in the frontline regions
Enemy terror continues in the frontline and border regions with russia. Enemy shelling damaged power grids in three districts of Kharkiv region. In particular, a 110 kV overhead line was damaged, which resulted in a power cut to 9,000 consumers. Repair work has already begun. In addition, a gas pipeline was damaged in Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region due to russian shelling.
Some consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy and Chernihiv regions remain without power. Repair crews are working where the security situation allows.
Consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam blow-up
In Kherson, more than 500 grid access points that were disconnected after the flooding have been re-energised. About 7,000 consumers remain without power in the city. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but repairs are slowed down by shelling.
Situation at the ZNPP
A slight decrease in the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond has been recorded. It is currently at 15.94 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
Exports/imports
Commercial electricity imports over the past day totalled 160.00 MWh. Exports to Slovakia amounted to 2,400.00 MWh, and to Moldova – 2,115.00 MWh.
