  • Stepan Kubiv explained how the road network influences the economy of Ukraine at UKRCEMFOR 2019

    Today, May 28, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv opened the VIII International Conference UKRCEMFOR 2019 in Kyiv.

    In his statement, the First Deputy Prime Minister noted that the establishment of high-quality infrastructure is among the priorities of the Government and a key factor in providing economic upturn.

    "Construction of roads, schools, hospitals, social infrastructure objects is among the key positive factors for economic growth in Ukraine. For the three years we have built 6800 km of roads of state and local importance and provided UAH 55.1 billion for road networks development in 2019 Budget. The roads must be of high-quality, meet the best world standards and expectations of citizens", said Stepan Kubiv.

    Moreover, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine noted that to ensure the successful development of construction and road industry, the Government creates transparent and fair competition in the market in order to stimulate innovation and provide production capacities modernization.

    "Energy audits of 65 industrial enterprises have been conducted, as a result of which 20 feasibility studies will be developed for the implementation of relevant innovations and energy modernization. With the support of international colleagues, we have begun the creation of a Guarantee Fund to provide short-term revolving loans to Ukrainian enterprises for energy efficiency, energy management and energy efficiency systems optimization measures", Stepan Kubiv emphasized.

    The First Deputy Prime Minister also added that access to financial resources is an important factor in the development of Ukrainian industry.

    "To attract systemic investors, we have initiated a reform of the concession legislation to attract large foreign investors to the large-scale infrastructure development in Ukraine", Stepan Kubiv emphasized.


    International Cement Industry Conference is one of the largest biennial industry conferences in Ukraine, which brings together about 300 representatives of companies and organizations from more than 12 countries of the world. The conference is a communication platform for a dialogue between the leaders of all cement companies in Ukraine, manufacturers of equipment for cement productions of scientists, Ukrainian and international experts in the sector of economy, environment, technologies and quality, as well as investors in the cement and construction industry.
