Energy Minister German Galushchenko discussed with Swedish Ambassador Martin Åberg the preparation of the energy system for winter and Ukraine's urgent needs for additional equipment.
"We are working to increase the capacity of distributed generation and backup power for critical infrastructure facilities. We highly appreciate the decision of the Government of Sweden to allocate an additional EUR 40 million for the purchase of equipment that will improve the situation with energy supply in the regions subject to constant hostile shelling," said German Galushchenko.
The parties discussed in detail the process of procuring the equipment, its delivery to Ukraine and preparation for installation in order to speed up these processes as much as possible.
Martin Åberg highly appreciated the work of Ukrainian power engineers who, despite massive attacks, continue to restore power supply and provide light to Ukrainian homes.
Special attention was paid to strengthening the protection of energy facilities and measures taken to ensure their safety.
