Today, on September 7, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with France’s Special Envoy for Ukraine’s Relief and Reconstruction Pierre Heilbronn.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk, Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa and Deputy Minister of Finance Alexander Kava.
The parties discussed potential cooperation projects in the area of recovery, the implementation of the EU’s Ukraine Facility and Ukraine’s cooperation with international financial organizations.
Sergii Marchenko thanked the Government of France for its systematic support of Ukraine to accelerate our country’s victory in the war, as well as for its efforts to mobilize resources for recovery.
Pierre Heilbronn assured of further support for Ukraine. At the same time, the French side noted that it is interested in strengthening cooperation, in particular, provision of funds for the supply of modular hospitals to replace those damaged or destroyed as a result of russia’s armed aggression.
As for the Ukraine Facility, the parties discussed the current state of work on the project. This instrument will be part of the EU’s multi-annual financial program for 2024-2027. The Ukraine Facility will focus on supporting Ukraine’s macro-financial stability, promoting recovery, reconstruction and modernization, and facilitating the transition to a green, digital and inclusive economy.
The parties also discussed Ukraine’s cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Minister of Finance noted that the Government of Ukraine ensures that all relevant structural benchmarks required for the second review are met.
