“We are grateful to the Kingdom of Norway for the support of the Ukrainian people since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Next year, the monthly budget deficit will amount to USD 3 to 4 billion. Therefore, it is extremely necessary for us to attract external financing in order to preserve the stability of the financial system of Ukraine. We count on the help of the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, both in financing the State Budget of Ukraine and in the recovery of damaged critical infrastructure,” said Sergii Marchenko.

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine also thanked the Norwegian Government for the decision to provide USD 205 million for gas purchases for the autumn-winter period.

During the meeting, Minister of Finance Trygve Slagsvold Vedum expressed the Norwegian Government's unconditional support for Ukraine. The parties agreed to continue to maintain a constant and constructive dialogue between the countries.
