Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko expressed support for the UK Government’s decision to introduce a new wave of sanctions against russia aimed at businesses and individuals involved in the financing and conduct of the russian war.

“The UK is taking new measures against russia’s energy sector by imposing sanctions on 9 organisations linked to the russian state-owned nuclear energy company rosatom. We welcome this next step by our partners. It is important to increase the pressure on the russian terrorist machine,” the Minister of Energy of Ukraine stressed.

As a reminder, in mid-April 2023, the US Department of State also imposed sanctions on a number of individuals associated with the russian state-owned rosatom corporation. In September 2022, Ukraine imposed similar measures against a number of individuals and legal entities linked to rosatom.
