Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, held an online meeting with Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The Minister told Inger Andersen about the environmental consequences of the hydroelectric plant blast not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole world.
Inger Andersen assured the Minister of UNEP’s full support for Ukraine. She pledged to help model the impact of the russian terrorist attack on wildlife, provide technical and scientific solutions to develop a plan for the environmental rehabilitation of the affected areas and prevent the spread of hazards.
“We expect UNEP to develop a roadmap within a week. I thank Inger Andersen for her support. I hope our cooperation in this area will be fruitful,” said Ruslan Strilets.
