On December 22, a round table “Certification – a generator of qualitative changes in the education system” was held, which was joined online by more than 400 certified teachers.
“Certification has proven its effectiveness in the system of external quality assurance of education and has received positive feedback. In addition, a new community has emerged – a community of certified teachers and experts – that can do a lot to transform the education system. The state needs ‘agents of change’ who will develop horizontal connections and popularize innovative pedagogical ideas for the success of Ukrainian students,” said Ruslan Hurak, Head of the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine.
The participants of the round table summed up the results of this year’s certification, which took place under martial law, highlighted the role of experts, including certified teachers, and outlined the prospects for 2030. In particular, the concept of certification of school principals was positively assessed as one that would allow attracting more and more highly motivated and committed managers to education.
As a reminder, in 2022, 1,171 primary school teachers successfully passed the certification. Currently, there are 3,098 teachers with a valid certificate in Ukraine, which makes up 4% of the total number of primary school teachers.
