The Youth Council under the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine will actively participate in the implementation of ongoing projects, especially those related to young people, as well as offer its own ideas and solutions. This was discussed during a meeting between Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Andrii Teliupa and Tetiana Berezhna, Deputy Ministers, with members of the Youth Council.

“The opinions and ideas offered by the Youth Council will influence the processes of making socially important decisions. From mortgages to grants, from credit programmes to new initiatives, this is a real chance to change policies, improve them and even introduce new tools. In particular, it is important for us to strengthen youth-oriented components in our projects,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, members of the Youth Council learned about key projects currently being implemented by the Ministry of Economy.

Andrii Teliupa emphasised the importance of young people returning to the country for the recovery and further economic development.

“The main practical goal of the Youth Council, in my opinion, is how to make young people return to Ukraine and keep them in Ukraine. To do this, we must work with young people to develop and launch workable mechanisms that will encourage young people to work here,” said Andrii Teliupa.

Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna spoke about the projects, including those in the area of employment, currently being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and encouraged the members of the Youth Council to propose ideas for expanding the programmes.

Yuliia Svyrydenko stressed that the Ministry of Economy leadership was ready to serve as mentors for the Youth Council and to facilitate its work as much as possible.

“We hope that the Youth Council will provide us with project proposals, help us promote support programmes for young people, etc.,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Economy’s Youth Council is to become a permanent advisory body that will prepare, submit and review proposals and recommendations from young people on the formation and implementation of the Ministry’s state policy.
