Today at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine.30. Land” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed law №2194 on land decentralisation.

"This year will enter the history of our state. Ukrainian land, after decades of ordeal, gets freedom and its true master. From now on, communities become the legitimate creators of land relations. They are the owners and managers of their lands. For 8 long years, the Verkhovna Rada could not pass this law. Therefore, for me it is a victory for which I had to fight for the last 1.5 years, despite all obstacles. Today, the law was signed by the President of Ukraine and enters into force," said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko.

The law gives every citizen and society as a whole the ability to control the actions of the government, eliminates the corruption component.

The document provides for a number of provisions on deregulation of land management. In particular, such phenomena as state examination of land management documentation, approval of land management projects for land allotment, author's supervision over the implementation of land management projects are abandoned. The law also improves the procedure for conducting electronic land auctions.

According to the Minister, Law 2194 is about the return of justice to Ukrainians.

    Background

Law № 2194 on deregulation of land relations was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on October 1, 2019. On April 28, 2021, 284 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada supported the law in the second reading.
