Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 05 July 2023 10:01

Another unit at one of Ukraine’s NPPs has come out of repair 4 days ahead of schedule, as part of the largest power plant repair campaign in history. It will add 1,000 MW of capacity to the system.

“Thanks to the professional and well-coordinated work of our nuclear engineers, we were able to repair and restart the unit ahead of schedule. This is an extremely important contribution to strengthening the resilience of our power system and ensuring energy balance. For every Ukrainian, this means stability of energy supply,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

As a reminder, in June, one of the NPP units came out of repair 20 days ahead of schedule. In total, NPPs generate almost half of the country’s electricity. A major repair campaign is underway at nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric power plants in preparation for the upcoming heating season.
