The Government has decided to expand the Affordable Medicines programme to all pharmacies operating in the country. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a regular Government meeting on 13 December.

According to the Head of Government, in order to support Ukrainians in the winter, the Government continues to implement President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Winter Support initiative. As part of this initiative, the Affordable Medicines programme has been updated and modernised.

“Today, the Government is adopting a resolution that will make the Affordable Medicines programme available in every pharmacy in our country. This will make medicines even more affordable in every corner of the country,” the Prime Minister stressed.

According to him, under this programme, almost 600 medical devices and medicines are available to Ukrainians free of charge or for a small fee.

The Head of Government also noted that Ukrainians continued to apply for assistance under the Winter ePidtrymka programme – more than 6.8 million applications had already been received. Denys Shmyhal stressed that payments under this programme had already begun and the money were being transferred to citizens’ accounts.
