    On November 19, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the international competition of scientific, scientific - technical solutions and innovative projects “МІСТ ПАТОНА. PATON BRIDGE”. In the event were also participating Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet, representatives of ministries, the Office of the President and the National Academy of Sciences.

    According to the Head of Government, the competition, launched by the President of Ukraine in October this year, should become another tool to support promising Ukrainian youth and provide talented Ukrainians with opportunities for realization their potential within the country.

    "In today's world, the main competition between states is around the development of new technologies. And we are all aware that it is those countries that support science, technology and innovation that occupy the leading economic positions in the world. Our goal is Ukraine as a scientific and innovative leader of the region," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

    The Prime Minister noted that the Government is constantly working in this direction, in particular, developing STEM education, supporting universities, financially assisting in the implementation of promising research projects. Denys Shmyhal also reminded of the recently concluded Agreement between Ukraine, the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community on Ukraine's participation in the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme - the EU's largest initiative to finance science and innovation with a total budget of 95.5 billion euros.

    "The development of scientific and innovative potential, apart from strengthening international cooperation in science and technology, will also increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine. After all, such development is the basis for the creation of new technologies, and their widespread implementation, in turn, is a guarantee of strengthening the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy," the Prime Minister stressed.

    Denys Shmyhal expressed confidence that the international competition "Paton Bridge" will form a creative and active generation of young scientists in various fields. And thanks to him, Ukraine will enter the top of world leaders in scientific-technological solutions and innovative development.
