Prime Minister of Ukraine and President of Kenya discuss food security and deepening cooperation
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and President of Kenya William Ruto discussed food security issues in the world. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations Financing for Development Conference in Spain.
"Despite the war, Ukraine remains a guarantor of global food stability. russia is stealing Ukrainian grain and deliberately attacking our ports and grain storage facilities. This poses a direct threat not only to African countries, but to the entire world," the Head of the Ukrainian Government emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties also focused on practical steps to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and Kenya. They paid attention to the preparation of an agreement on economic and trade cooperation, as well as the development of agricultural processing and the creation of logistics and agricultural hubs.
A separate topic discussed by Denys Shmyhal and William Ruto was the issue of education, including initiatives to launch an exchange between higher education institutions.
"Ukraine is open to cooperation in digitalisation, IT and space sectors," Denys Shmyhal also stressed.
He thanked Kenya for its consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its commitment to the principles of the UN Charter.
