Fellow citizens!

On behalf of the Government, I congratulate you on the professional holiday - the Day of the National Guard of Ukraine!

The National Guard is the honour of not only armed formations of Ukraine, but of the entire Ukrainian people. All Ukrainians remember the volunteers who standing in the Maidan expressed their readiness to join the ranks of the National Guard to defend their homeland in the first months of Russian aggression. Then began the glorious history of the renewed National Guard.

Today, the troops of the National Guard continue to perform military service in the East and the most important and most dangerous parts of our country. The National Guard is trusted to guard military facilities and nuclear power plants, the National Guard officers provide order during public events and festivities. The National Guard is an elite force from which young people seek inspiration and which they are striving to join when they made up their mind to tie their lives with service in the army.

The safety of citizens and the State is our overriding priority, hence the Government closely follows the issues of providing the needs of the National Guard forces. We will secure funding and material support for the troops of the National Guard at the decent level. The needs of the National Guard officers will remain the focus for the Government, because our strategic goal is to build powerful military formations that are capable of withstanding the challenges of the modern world.

I express my gratitude to all the officers and employees of the National Guard for their dedicated and professional service to the Motherland! I wish you good health and longevity, professional self-improvement and good luck in the military service!
