Today, May 24, President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid and Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko are on visit to Donetsk region. Estonian President will be the first leader of a foreign state to visit the Ukrainian-controlled Donbas area. The issues regarding the situation in Donbas and its restoration are in focus. The agenda of the visit also includes a meeting with Ukrainian servicemen, local residents and internally displaced persons in Kramatorsk. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister Hennadii Zubko.
In the course of the meeting held in Kramatorsk the Vice Prime Minister and Joint Forces Commander Serhiy Nayev informed Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid about the current situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, changes according to which ATO transformed into Joint Forces Operation, and increase in shelling by militants of the the residential quarters and peaceful settlements.
During the visit, representatives of the official delegations from Ukraine and Estonia will get familiarized with the reconstruction of the Ukrainian Donbas, visit the Center for Humanitarian Aid, and will hold a joint press conference for Estonian, Ukrainian and international media.
