From today, a new checkpoint Krasnoilsk - Vicovu de Sus has been operating on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. It was officially opened by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă during a joint visit to the Ukrainian-Romanian border on November 10.
"After February 24, the western direction has become key for Ukraine. Expanding its capacity is therefore among the priorities for our Government. The development of cross-border infrastructure allows us to increase exports to the EU, boost support and intensity of economic cooperation with partners," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Krasnoilsk - Vicovu de Sus has become the first checkpoint built from scratch since 1998. It is planned to launch other checkpoints on the border with Romania in the future. "We should not be complacent here. We continue to work for victory," added Denys Shmyhal.
