  • Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania visited the contact line in Luhansk region

    During a working trip to Luhansk region on February 11, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė got familiarized with the work of the Stanytsia Luhanska EECP (exit/entry crossing points) and inspected the Shchastia EECP service area.

    Denys Shmyhal stressed that the joint visit to the contact line with the Head of the Lithuanian Government once again demonstrates the coherence and unity of our partners in the face of current threats.

    "Ukraine has strong support from Lithuania and from the Prime Minister. Lithuania is providing us with both defense weapons and vaccines to immunize people, in particular, from the temporarily occupied territories. This large number of Johnson & Johnson vaccines is enough for us to provide relevant services to Ukrainians at these crossing points," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

    Denys Shmyhal also thanked Lithuania for providing humanitarian assistance, in particular for building social infrastructure in the affected Ukrainian territories.

    For her part, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė assured that Ukraine's friends and partners are trying to do everything possible to ensure the de-escalation of the conflict and support our state.

    During the acquaintance with the work of the checkpoints, the heads of the governments of Ukraine and Lithuania were informed that the Stanytsia Luhanska EECP currently consists of a restricted and service zones. Currently, the modernization of the regime zone has been completed. The modernization of the service area is underway, where it is planned to place a bank branch, pension fund and social security bodies’ employees. All repair works are planned to be completed during the second quarter of 2022.

    The Center for Administrative Services Provision (CASP), equipped according to modern requirements, is located in the modular service center at the Shchastia EECP. There have been created comfortable conditions for staff and consumers of services at the CASP. As the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania were reported, the CASP provides a total of 222 services. The most popular today are the issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a foreign passport.

    There are also free vaccination points against COVID-19 on the territory of both EECPs, where one can be inoculated with any of the vaccines approved by the WHO at choice.
