  • Prime Minister: All citizens whose homes have been damaged or destroyed will receive a digital document confirming the damage
Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 14 June 2022 18:33

The Government has approved a single and unified form that will record the damage caused to the housing of Ukrainians by russian troops. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"Previously, such a certificate was drawn up in any form. Now every citizen whose home has been damaged or destroyed will have a digital document confirming losses. With this decision, we are also laying the foundation for the future register of damaged property, "said the Prime Minister.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the Government has already set up a Special Commission to assess the damage caused by russia's military aggression. Regional commissions will also be set up at the community level to fill out an act with information on the type of damage. All new acts will be compiled in digital form through the Action system, while all previous acts will be digitized and entered into the appropriate database. According to Denys Shmyhal, local authorities will continue to be responsible for the implementation of this process.

The Head of Government noted that in the second stage a unified estimated cost estimate will be developed. The Ministry of Communities and TerritoriesDevelopment is currently working on it.

"The Government is waiting for the law to be passed in order to start working on the reimbursement process. This project is currently being considered by the Verkhovna Rada. I am sure that the MPs will support such an important decision for the country in the near future, "Denys Shmyhal stressed.

According to the Prime Minister, the full-fledged process of reimbursement will begin as soon as the confiscated russian funds in the West reach Ukraine. The Government is constantly working with partners to transfer funds to Ukraine for reconstruction: a special working group has been set up and the world's best lawyers are involved.
