On November 24, in Kyiv, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom James Cleverly.
The Head of Ukrainian Government expressed gratitude for allocation by the UK of the first GBP 5 million to the Energy Community’s Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which will be used to ensure functioning of the civilian energy sector of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom discussed strengthening of sanctions against russia and establishment of a special international tribunal to bring the top leadership of russia to justice.
The parties also touched upon preparation to the Conference on restoration of Ukraine to be held in the UK. In this context they raised the issue of confiscation of frozen russian assets and their use for the restoration of our state.
Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine is interested in development of public-private partnership and is negotiating with international organizations on the introduction of a mechanism of war risk insurance.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the United Kingdom for its comprehensive and significant support in countering the full-scale russian aggression.
