The deepening of European integration and the restoration of Ukraine were the topics for discussion during a meeting between the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Albares in Kyiv on November 2.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked for the symbolic visit of support to Ukraine and the transfer of 30 ambulances: "Soon these vehicles will be handed over to doctors and will help save lives."
During the meeting, the parties outlined further steps for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
"We expect to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission and start the negotiation process. We expect that Spain, which will preside over the EU Council from July 2023, will contribute to this issue," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine and the head of the Spanish Foreign Ministry touched, in particular, on the topic of immediate restoration of the energy infrastructure. Moreover, the parties tackled post-war reconstruction with the involvement of UNESCO to restore and preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
