Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk participated in a meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with representatives of the agricultural sector during which the parties discussed the introduction of free land turnover in Ukraine and the implementation of land reform.
The event gathered representatives of all-Ukrainian agricultural civic organizations, industry associations, farms from different regions of Ukraine, small and large agricultural enterprises.
The President said that the most critical for the introduction of efficient land reform is the views of those who work directly on land.
During the meeting, the attendees tackled the Government's bill on opening up the land market in Ukraine and its components. There was raised an issue of the necessity to create support mechanisms for farmers. In addition, farmers delivered remarks regarding significant systemic problems with national cadastres of natural resources, which are absent in practical terms, especially in electronic form. However, on commission of the Prime Minister, an integrated database system has been created during the week on the basis of the information already available in the registers.
Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk noted that the land reform is being prepared carefully, and opening up of land turnover will significantly accelerate economic growth. The PM added that to this end, the Government engages in vigorous activities to resolve the vexed questions in the industry.
Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Tymofii Mylovanov and line Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky partook in the meeting as well. The participants of the meeting stressed the importance of exchanging opinions and visions on this issue in order to ensure maximum coordination of the topics under discussion.
