Today, November 14, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk has given a commission to the ministries and other central authorities to speed up the preparation process and to transfer at least 500 objects to the State Property Fund of Ukraine for privatization this year.

“Privatization is a critical anti-corruption factor, since at the state-run enterprises they used to privatize profits while they used to regularly leave losses to the state. The more objects we manage to transfer to the ownership, the less the state will borrow. Therefore, privatization implies speed and trust, so everything must be transparent,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.

Oleksiy Honcharuk accentuated that privatization is an important public process, hence all procedures for the preparation and sale of property should take place through open competition.

“By December 31, 500 enterprises must be transferred to the State Property Fund so that the society can see transparent competitive procedures. It proves necessary to find independent professional advisers, to clear the available property from all corruption interests, criminal cases, contrived debts. It is critical to make these objects interesting for investors,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.

Oleksiy Honcharuk added that the Government has taken all necessary measures and adopted the critical documents to guarantee a transparent and efficient privatization process for small and large state-owned property objects, in particular with regard to PJSC “Centrenergo”.

“If there are people who deliberately drive a company into bankruptcy, then it is crucial to make personnel decisions. There are no barriers either at the Government level or other levels. If there are ministries that hinder your activity, delay in transferring enterprises to privatization, then let us know - we will accelerate their work,” Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.
