The Prime Minister paid peculiar attention to the work of medical institutions and Chop border checkpoint.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, within the framework of his working visit to the region visited Zakarpattia Regional Clinical Hospital named after Andriy Novak that was determined among the first wave hospitals for admission of patients with COVID-19.
During the trip, the Head of Government stressed that doctors being "at the forefront" in the fight against coronavirus disease should get decent pay. They must also be fully provided with all personal protective equipment.
“Today, we have brought with us on the plane part of the personal protective equipment to Zakarpattia, the delivery of which the Presidential Office constantly coordinates. We handed over part of this delivery for the needs of the region, while the other part - to the hospital,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Moreover, the PM told that currently, Ukraine is following a moderate-case scenario of COVID-19 spread. This means that preventative measures have been taken rather timely.
Apart from that, the Prime Minister visited the checkpoint "Chop (Tysa) - Záhony", where he heard the report of Acting Chief of Zakarpattia Customs Department of the State Customs Service Viktor Ivanus and Chief of the Chop 94th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Ruslan Tsapyuk.
During the trip, the Head of the Government got acquainted with the modern means of control at Zakarpattia Customs. The problem of the Chop - Záhony bridge across the Tysa River on the border with Hungary was also discussed. The bridge was built in 1996 and currently needs major repairs.
The Prime Minister instructed to examine the documents and provide proposals for solving the problem.
