The Government of Ukraine and all road services engage in the implementation of the Government's program of major road repairs until 2022, which stipulates significant improvement of the quality of roads in Ukraine and the communication between regional centers connected by modern highways. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
The Head of Government today, April 23, is on a working trip in three regions - Kyiv, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia, in which he inspects the road construction and repair activities. The focus of attention are sections of M-05 Kyiv-Odessa and M-12 Stryi-Ternopil-Kropivnitsky-Znamianka highways. These roads are part of the GO Highway international transport corridor, which should connect the Ukrainian Black Sea ports with the Polish ports in the Baltic Sea. The construction activities were launched in this direction in 2018, and this year it was financed under a separate budget line to the tune of UAH 4 billion. According to the plan, the route connecting Lviv with Uman will be systematically upgraded by the end of the year.
While inspecting the route Kyiv-Odesa, the Prime Minister stressed that this way is essential for Ukraine. And this year to restore the highway there is allotted UAH 800 million.
"We face the task of connecting regional centers by 2022, and we are making step-by-step progress in that direction", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM drew attention to the fact that the active repair of the roads had been launched quite early - due to weather conditions and timely tenders. And now new tenders are being prepared for other road sections. International partners are also involved in cooperation.
