Prime Minister met with the heads of diplomatic missions and international financial organizations

Ukraine’s European integration, post-war reconstruction, job creation and financial support were in the focus during a meeting on June 3 between the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and heads of diplomatic missions and international financial organizations.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government called to the partner countries to advance the return to work in the safe Ukrainian territory of international companies that operated in Ukraine before the start of russia's large-scale aggression.

"We urge companies that have suspended operations to resume operations. And those who left the russian market are invited to open regional offices in Kyiv. Returning to the work of international corporations in Ukraine will help fill the state budget and survive the war, "said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister thanked Ukraine's partners for receiving Ukrainian refugees. He stressed that financial support from friends and allies helps Ukraine in social and humanitarian issues, including demining and priority infrastructure rehabilitation measures.

"We invite our partners to join the reconstruction on a regional basis. Take patronage over regions, cities and towns. We want to build a new state according to European standards and parameters, "Denys Shmyhal stressed.

According to the Head of Government, the President of Ukraine has established the National Council for Reconstruction, which has been joined by experts in 23 sectoral areas. He called for reconstruction, both technically and financially.

"At the same time, we understand that the aggressor has to finance the main part of the reconstruction. Therefore, I call for the adoption of national legislation on the confiscation of russian assets. It is necessary for the aggressor to pay for their destruction. This should be the basis of the new security system, "said the Prime Minister.

Denys Shmyhal dwelled on that Ukraine's membership in the European Union is a factor that inspires Ukrainians. He noted that the majority of the country's population supports joining the EU. The Head of Government appealed to the partners to support granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government has accelerated European integration processes. In particular, in March, the Ukrainian power system was connected to the European power grid ENTSO-E. Ukraine expects the same quick decisions from the European Commission on joint customs control (NCTS), single euro payments area (SEPA) and free roaming.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal discussed with the heads of diplomatic missions the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine. The PM stressed that the goal of our state is to liberate the country from the aggressor and expel the enemy beyond internationally recognized borders.

The Prime Minister also thanked the EU countries for the sixth package of sanctions. According to Denys Shmyhal, this weakens the russian budget, reduces the enemy's ability to fight and replenish the armed forces with modern weapons.
